Missions

Our Church, Our Community, Our Country, Our World

One of the things we value the most at Bethel Nazarene is Missions. We believe that everyone who knows Christ as their Savior plays an integral part in spreading God’s love through loving His people. This can happen through sharing faith, praying, meeting needs both physically and financially, and by being aware of peoples’ needs. We understand that being missional is a part of everyday life with the people in our families, our church, our workplace, and school, as well as people in our local community, our country, and around the world. Bethel Naz supports Missions in five primary ways: prayer, service, giving, education and vision. Learn about Nazarene Missions International (NMI).

Prayer

Bethel Naz is committed to prayer for missions and our missionaries. We understand the value in interceding in prayer on behalf of leaders and churches in the pursuit of drawing people to Christ.

Serving

Bethel Naz serves those in need both locally and across the globe, helping to provide for needs and spread God's love.

  • Backpacks for Centennial: Our church collects school supplies and backpacks to donate to a local school for children in need every August.
  • Operation Christmas Child: We partner with Samaritan's Purse to send presents to children around the world.
  • Giving Tree: We shop for local families who would not have a Christmas otherwise.
  • Youth Missions: Every other year youth grades 7th-12th have the opportunity to go on a mission trip.

Giving

A portion of all of the tithes and offerings that come into our church directly goes back out to support Nazarene missionaries and missions. When we have missionaries visit our church, we send them away with a love offering.

Annually: Each year, Bethel Naz participates in The Alabaster Offering, providing funds for property and buildings around the world. Buildings are erected for the purpose of ministry helping to provide a sense of permanence and functionality to enhance ministry efforts. Alabaster funds help provide land for many Work & Witness projects, and the entire Alabaster Offering goes toward the purchase of land and construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers.

Special Offerings: Occasionally we take a special offering for a specific mission. For example,in 2016, we raised money to start a new church in the area, Encounter

Education

It is important for us to be aware of people’s needs both near and far. We want to inform people of the world's needs and what the church is doing to meet those needs. We attempt to help educate and bring awareness to people at Bethel Naz through a variety of ways such as hosting visiting missionaries and providing information through current missionary books for both adults and children.

Vision

We recognize that our church community is diverse and that we all have different callings. We support our members, in extending our reach missionally when they have a vision, to help make it a reality. For example, an upcoming mission development from one of our members is to start a community garden. Bethel Garden promotes health, involvement, and commitment as our members partner with the food bank to donate the produce.
